Dear Parents/Carers

Change to infant timetable

To help improve the transition between KS1 and KS2 lunchtimes there will be some minor changes to the infant timetable starting after half term. Infant lunch will move forward 5 minutes and will now be 11:55am to 12:55pm. Subsequently the afternoon playtime will also be 5 minutes earlier and run 2:10pm to 2:25pm.

The school entered teams in both the KS1 event at Peter May and the KS2 Orion Harriers invitation race at Chingford Plains. The Year 2 girls team won the silver medals whilst in the KS2 race, the boys A-team also won silver medals. Well done to everybody who took part.

Parents Association

The school would like to thank the parents association for their continued hard work in providing extra opportunities for our pupils and supporting what we do in school. As well as a donation to school funds this term, they also very generously paid for a new set of tracksuits and some new library storage units. They are always keen to have more parents get involved, if you are able to help please see Mrs Pridmore who works in Class 13.

Autumn Festival

A reminder that it is the autumn festival on Fri 21st Oct

  • Reception and Infants (Year 1 & 2)            9:30-10:00am
  • Interval for refreshments                             10:10–10:25am
  • Lower Juniors (Years 3 and 4)                      10:30-10:50am
  • Upper Juniors (Years 5 & 6)                          10:50-11:20am

We still need more contributions of groceries and non-perishable goods so that we can make up gift parcels for local senior citizens. Please take a few minutes to see what you could spare from your cupboards.

After-School clubs

For pupils to attend any of the after school clubs they must have provided a permission slip, signed by a parent. If your child is interested in joining one of the clubs, please talk to the member of staff/coach/parent that runs the club first to check there are spaces and to get a permission slip. Pupils who turn up at a club without first providing a signed permission slip will not be able to take part.

For the attention of parents with children in Year 6

All Year 6 children are required to take their assessment tests at the same time as the rest of the country. This academic year the dates for these are the week beginning Monday 8th May 2017. Please do not book any holidays or appointments during that week. Year 6 camp at Suntrap will be held week beginning 22nd May 2017 with each class spending 3 days there.

I hope you all have an enjoyable half term.

Mr Evans
